Date and Time
21 Nov 2026, 10:30 – 12:30
Huntingdon Library & Archives
Give your old clothes a new lease of life! Join me to explore the wonderful worlds of visible mending and find inspiration for your own creative fixes.
You will learn about a variety of visible mending techniques and follow step-by-step instructions to create your own beautiful honeybee patch. You can even bring along your own broken clothes for advice and suggestions.
Repairing worn and broken clothing is both practical and environmentally-friendly, but it can also be fun, creative and personal. From sashiko to crochet, I will explain the basic principles of visible mending and share examples. The talk will be followed by a short taster session where you can practice patching with applique and embroidery techniques.
No previous sewing experience necessary. Fine motor skills needed to thread needles and manipulate your thread and fabric.
