Hidden Worlds: Embroidery on Canvas

Embroidery on canvas artwork produced for local charity Rowan for their annual art show.

In this piece I used a combination of textile techniques and natural
materials to explore the theme of ‘the great outdoors’ and challenge people’s understanding of nature, asking them to look beyond what they can immediately see to the hidden worlds beneath.

The piece uses traditional textile techniques, such as plant-based dyeing, sprang and embroidery, to create a contemporary and tactile artwork.
